Little to no signal inside appartment

hey guys! i recently moved into a new a appartment and my fiace and i both have evos and we get week signals. funny thing is that its strong to get texts calls and very weak 3g. the phone rings but when i answer the person on the other side does not hear. my question to you guys is, is there any kind of a repeater or signal booster i could install that could strengthen my signal? i thought of the airave but dont really wanna pay extra for unless theres a way to "unlock" it and do it for free.:D

There are signal repeaters available that you can buy, but they are quite expensive. But, there are no monthly fees to use them, so it might be a wash compared to the Airrave.
Check out something like this:
Buy.com - Wilson Electronics 801247 Desktop (DT) Cell Phone Signal Booster for Home or Office - For Multiple Users

Heres a google search that might help as well:
cdma signal repeater - Google Search

Hope that helps!

call from somewhere besides home and tell them your afraid to call them from home because the call might drop. be very dramatic about it. they are more than willing to give them away and waive the 5 dollar service fee.

yea. try it it took me less than 15 minutes. they wanted to do a bunch of signal tests first an i just told them i wasnt at home to do them. they gave it to me with zero issues.

no. they started to sell me on it telling me it was 99 bucks and 5 dollars a month but to keep me as a customer they would waive it all. i never even threatened to leave. my contract was no where near up.

Ill try and hopefully it goes that's smoothly for me too. What kinda signal do you get when you around yours?

austin420 11-14-2010 03:06 PM

Wirelessly posted (The Most EPIC ppc.: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; SPH-D700 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

Signal fo4r voice and data are both terrific. It goes long distance too. I drive about 6 houses up the block before I'm out of range. Lately its been acting real buggy. I'm getting the same 2 texts honestly 100 times a day when I'm at home. They say its a problem with the time change, and that's when it started too. Told me a fix was soon coming. We'll see.

Verizon has a network extender $150 and works great...have the same problem as you do and with the extender I can get all calls and internet anywhere in the apartment

I was having the same problem for a while. I had great signal, but I guess there was trouble with an antenna for about a month and all my calls would drop at home. Didn't get an airave, but I am getting great signal again.
