Take Over SERO Keep your Number!
I know there's a lot of posts about SERO on here. Many haters, those that are jealous(me being one.) Just wanted to let everyone at ppcgeeks know that the old SERO is still available. I was on a pretty good discounted plan at $43/month, but longed for the SERO $30 plan.
I bought a SERO 500 plan from a member here last Friday. Did the T.O.L. with no problems, but wanted to keep my current Sprint number. I signed up for a verizon account and ported my number over (phone showed up Tuesday and I activated it.) Called 1-877-688-1969 today and ported my number back to my newly acquired SERO account. Now I just have to send my Verizon phone back to them and cancel the account. I think they charge a $35 restock fee now, but it's worth it. Don't mean to abuse another carrier but there is no other way to swap numbers within the same carrier. Not sure if I'll OPT for the $10 fee for Android phones in October, pretty Happy with my Touch Pro2. Just wanted to let everyone who wants the cheapest Bill possible know that this is still an option. |
Re: Take Over SERO Keep your Number!
you could've done the same thing using a cheap pre-paid phone which wouldn't have triggered a credit inquiry like I assume Verizon did when you opened an acct with them.

he had to port his number to verizon for them to port it back. i dont tink you get to pick your number with a cheepee pre paid.

Re: Take Over SERO Keep your Number!
Good info. Welcome aboard the SERO club! I have 2 SERO's myself and love'em.
Sometimes, you can get them to apply a company discount and save even more. I think I have a 20% discount on both of mine. Heres a screen to prove it: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_qETGDInSB7Q/TF...20discoutn.JPG |

I get sooo mad reading that people were able to do a T.O.L. with a SERO account. I tried to give my g/f my $30 sero account since I was switching to the ED 450. Like I mentioned before, I talked to like 3 different reps and a supervisor and they said it cannot be done since SERO was a special plan. I even mentioned that people sell the SERO accounts on ebay and I know Sprint is doing T.O.L. for other people. They said it just can't be done. I even asked, are you saying it can't be done or just don't want to do it? They said it can't be done. What I hate about Sprint, they are not consistent on what they can and cannot do. |
Re: Take Over SERO Keep your Number!
when they said cheap prepaid, i assumed (i know i shouldnt) they meant a trac phone from 7-11 or something. you know, the 15 cent per min prepaid card phone. getting t-mo prepaid is still pretty decent. its just like having a tmo account.

Re: Take Over SERO Keep your Number!
#1 it is still a rumor not 100% Sero will get the android the way some think.
Also if they do change it YOU CAN'T not maybe YOU CAN'T have any discount on the plan period. They take this new plan as a discount in itself and will not allow you to move up to the android phone with a discount on the plan. So 50$ plus tax per line for a EVO or a ED450 at 69.99 with a 35$ corp discount is not much different. And if you need 3 lines like me it is cheaper for me to have the ed1500 at 129.99 then the 25% discount and a 10/24 on it.Much cheaper then 3 sero accounts would be. |
