SERO Plan - Still around!
I did not find a similar post so here it goes (sorry if it HAS been previously posted):
For anyone still interested in the original SERO plans ($30/mo), you may still be able to get it though it is officially "expired". Last year when I got married I ported my wife's sprint number to my account and they gave her a separate SERO plan just like mine. Today, my in-laws were thinking of leaving Sprint (their contract ends in 2 weeks) and I called Sprint to port their numbers over just like I had done with my wife. The first rep told me "No" because the SERO plan was already expired. So I called again and the second rep told me she believed that the SERO plan was expired but that she was going to check. 20 seconds later she said "Ok, I'll port them over to your account with the same SERO plan". So if you have a friend/family member on SERO and you really want it, there is still a chance. \\:D/ By the way, I already checked and their numbers ported successfully and they qualified to get new phones with a $150 rebate. The only things that stinks about all this is how limited SERO customers are as far as phones goes... maybe some day :protest: |
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
wow you got a good rep. Normally they wouldn't add the ports to sero.
|
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Just confirmed with Sprint that in October SERO customers will be allowed to get Android phones!!! \\:D/

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Its nothing new...if you already have a SERO plan you can duplicate it.. one thing to watch out for though is if you had some features like unlimited text added on..they may forget to port it and its a lot harder to get it added :/
Though you are lucky you went through only 2..I had to go through like 10-15 to get someone to say they could do it..but didn't know what they were talking about..then used it as leverage and had a supervisor do it..>.> |
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Yeah.... you just have to get the right rep to do it for you.

What exactly did you say to get them to do this? I have been trying for over a week to get them to activate an old phone I have around here on a clone of current sero 500 account. Ive talked to over 20 people including floor supervisors, and account managers, and they have all pretty much been like "stfu and pay 69.99 for less." |
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Probably won't do it cause you don't actually have sero.

As for getting a phone on it..there shouldn't be a problem..to confirm what phone are you trying to put on it? a Hero, Moment, Evo, Instinct, Palm Pre won't work..and a Blackberry requires you to convert it to a Voice only Sero..idk about nextel phones if they are eligible either.. If its not any of the above, you can esn swap on your account without an agents help via online... |

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Just activate the phone online... it is the easiest way to always do it. I don't understand why Sprint would give you a hard time trying to activate a phone on your SERO plan (as long as is not an android or webos).

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
i typed my question in a misleading way, the problem i am having isnt activating the phone on a cloned line, its getting them to duplicate the line in the first place. The phone (for now) is an old samsung m300, no problem on sero. I have spent the week just trying to get the second line, and all i get is (that plan is expired, but our 69.99 ED plan is great)
|
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
So... you currently have a SERO plan and you want to add an extra SERO line to your plan and activate the Samsung on it? If this is the case, I would just try to call again pressing *2 on your phone and tell them you want to add an extra line with the same plan you currently have. The last two SERO accounts I got were already Sprint accounts but out of contract and they ported the numbers and gave me SERO plans. However, last year I was able to add a whole new SERO account...so I think it is still possible.

thats how I got it done... One thign though..don't pester agents to say they could do it..if you do that they might put a note on your account.. just disconnect rather then have a long argument.. |

I was told by the rep that that plan wasn't available for him to add but his supervisor may be able to, so he transfered me. The supervisor told me it was impossible unless i call employee care, I get through to them and she brings up my account, says I'm not an employee and wouldn't even hear what i had to say before transferring me to regular care. There I get a woman who says shes pretty sure its possible and put me on hold, came back on saying she added a line and had a supervisor setting up the sero plan on it. That supervisor was unable to finalize it, and gave me yet another number to call. I talked to 6 different people all the way up to a "resolution manager" who still said it was NOT possible, and I should just get the 69.99 everything data plan, and for my trouble she would waive the activation fee. I told her that wasn't what I wanted, and I felt what I was told by the rep on the chat should be honored, and said i would forward her the transcript to prove i was told it could be done. She then said that was useless because "Anyone with the slightest knowledge of computers could forge whatever they want into a forwarded chat transcript." All in all I am getting seriously annoyed by this, any more help as to what i should say, or who i should ask for is appreciated. I spent 4 hours on the phone tonight and all i have to show for it is a second account on a basic 200 plan I don't even want. *EDIT* I forgot to mention, the customer care rep I was with who tried setting up the account said she noted my account saying that it was possible to add a second sero. Everyone I talked to after that said that all she noted was that I was told it wasn't available. Is there customer service always this ridiculous to go through? |
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Did you try calling using *2 on your phone? That's how I've always done it.

Got you... I don't know what else to tell you. I almost always get Sprint to do what I ask them by just calling the *2. Maybe I can try calling for you... pm me if you want to. God bless!

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
got a chat supervisor, said she did it and it would take effect sept. 2 when my billing cycle restarted, then she comes back with oh nevermind my system wont let me do it, i tried my best, here is the number for retentions if you dont want the basic 200 plan. I called, had that line removed (after trying to see if they could force it through). Im thinking that even though i kept it friendly, they noted my account to not give me sero. :'(

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
From what I'm realizing the problem is in whether you talk to telesales or customer service. It is not hard at all to have customer service handle SERO... that's why I was able to port 2 lines easily. The problem is that to add a whole new line you need to talk to telesales and most of them I guess got trained to as soon as they hear SERO, they go into "NO WAY JOSE" mode.... but it may still be possible.

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
If I had an extra one I'll definitely give it up so you can port it to your account... but all 4 of my SERO accounts are in use... sorry. Find someone that is getting ready to cancel Sprint and have them sell you their account and port that number ;)

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
SORTA SUCCESS!!
I now have a second line EPRP $59.99. I got an account manager to "for all my trouble" perform an override and give me my 20% corp discount, and then gave me a 10/24 deal that gets me an extra $10 off for 24 months, making my monthly plan $38 before taxes, ins, fees, etc. To me its worth the $8 more than sero for the any mobile anytime, and allowed use of iconic devices. Thanks for your help everyone. |
Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
Good to hear that! The extra $ a month is so worth the unlimited mobile to mobile and access to android phones. That's why I like Sprint... they give you a hard time sometimes but they come through for the customer. :thumbright:

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
yup..thats what I say with sprint just keep trying....and you'll get there eventually ;)

Re: SERO Plan - Still around!
I am going to try and get a 2nd SERO F&F 500 plan added to my account; I have been trying all week and keep getting shot down. So now I am going to try to add the 2nd line with an old phone!
