does it really matter? it can at most save you $75 a year if you buy new phones every year. even if your not a premier you could cancel your contract for close to that and get the ~150 off from another carrier at that time, same diff.

i'm not a premier customer since I don't pay my bill on time 12mo strait, but they rarely bill me correctly for that long too. I recently tried to add some lines, and got the run around for a while, but still got it, cuz I'd been a decent customer for so long.

I absolutely HATE Sprint customer service, in fact they should be banned from even stating that they have Customer Service. However when it comes to the plan cost and coverage, they are really not that bad. Additionally, if I'm not mistaken you can roam over Verizon network (don't quote me on this, i read it elsewhere a little while ago). They are pretty bad about pulling a fast one on you though, like switching a plan or inserting a fee or taxing you incorrectly. For about a year, I was paying taxes that were 3 times higher then they were supposed to be. After about 6 or 7 calls to Sprint (once every month), they finally fixed the issue and reimbursed me for incorrect fees and taxes...
My suggestion is:
if you are switching form one carrier to another plan because of a plan BS, that`s one thing. But don't switch just b/c of the phone. Although I do think that it is BS they pulled you out of the VIP program. I would send them an e-mail and see what they say first.
