Sprint Insurance/Repair question...
I've dropped my TP2 twice in the last week. First took a big chip out of the upper left corner of the housing, the second cracked the lower right corner housing and part of the battery cover.
It's mostly cosmetic, but 3 things are troublesome. First, the keyboard is now incredibly loose sliding out and the 3.5mm jack is has a lot of static when listening to a wired handset, third, the speaker volume seems lower now. I popped it open and notice my litmus strips are red on both the outer housing and the battery. It's never been in water, but am thinking some rain drops may have gotten to it (just read the thread on how to protect it in the future). Is this worth going to a sprint store and have them replace it, or is my best bet through Asurion? Thanks... |
Re: Sprint Insurance/Repair question...
you can try the sprint store, but put $100 bucks to the side just in case.

Re: Sprint Insurance/Repair question...
yeah thats what I was thinking... could argue that due to teh cracked housing water/rain/moisture entered the system should it come into play.

Re: Sprint Insurance/Repair question...
I work for Sprint. If you have TEP (Total Equipment Protection) the insurance company Asurion will have to replace the device for you and there will be a $100 deductable to pay. They may be able to bill it to your account if you dont have the money. Any physical, water, fire, lost or stolen damage is covered but you have to pay a deductable. BTW you may receive a recondition device as the replacement. Sprint stores wont be able to fix, they will refer you to Asurion.
