Re: Leaked 5.0.0.230 OS for 9630 Tour

All leaked OS's have bugs the same as ROM's made in kitchens for windows phones. But this is pretty stable, been using it since August with no problems. Upgraded it to a hybrid .287 OS system. Everuthing works-all my 3rd party apps work except for QuickPull and TeleNav. I wouldn't reccomend anyone to download the leaked .273 OS because that OS will cause a lot of "freeze ups" on your phone.
If you have any questions I will try to assist you all I can.

Re: Leaked 5.0.0.230 OS for 9630 Tour

I'm new to the bb world.
Where can I find the official Sprint 4.7.x to do a full flash in case the 5.0 leaked OS doesn't work out for me?

Is it like the windows mobile where you start the .exe file and 5-10 minutes later you have full flash and OS loaded?

Do I need to reactivated into the sprint system? or just update the mdn msid info on the phone to have phone service again?

Re: Leaked 5.0.0.230 OS for 9630 Tour

you just run the desktop manager again. just make sure you uninstall any previous version of dm before reinstalling it. i was playing around with roms and ran into a problem with my friend's storm. takes about a half hour or so, no need to reprogram anything, you just run it and thats it.

In that case my bad :) But there are huge improvements in 5.x over 4.x its almost like going from windows xp to windows 7. Besides sms threading, battery life is another huge improvement. Being able to access your themes right from your home screen along with being able to set your wallpaper. And these are some of the things that are noticeable visibly but under the hood there are major changes which make the OS much more stable and snappier than 4.x

Actually Sprint latest official rom is not .53 (that was a Verizon version that went bust). Sprintis 4..157.

Here's a link to the download site where you can get shipped version and update version... I keep the exe's on my portable drive so I can reinstall either version if a hybrid doesn't work well.

Re: Leaked 5.0.0.230 OS for 9630 Tour

Is it a must to remove the vendor file from app loader..?

Should I remove my microSD before upgrading..?

If I want to back to go sprint stock OS 4.7 for instore tech issues, is it the same process..?

Is it true that the home screen is totally transparent (top of screen & icon row)..?

delete vendor .xml it is not required, and may screw things up

Deleteing the vendor.xml file won't screw anything up but if you don't delete it you won't get a hybrid to install properly. The vendor.xml files make the os vendor (carrier) specific.

Re: Leaked 5.0.0.230 OS for 9630 Tour

maybe im asking the wrong questions...

right now im on 4.7...

i want my end result to be [9630][HYBRID] Juicy 5.0.0.230/348 R0...

do i have to upgrade my Tour to this normal leak OS 5.0.0.230 first...??

before im capable of going hybrid...??

or

i was thinking install the normal leak OS 5.0.0.230 .exe first on my PC...

then copy and paste the [HYBRID] Juicy 5.0.0.230/348 R0 files inside of it...

then launch the blackberry desktop manager and upgrade straight from 4.7 to [HYBRID] Juicy 5.0.0.230/348 R0...

im quite sure i know enough to just upgrade to the normal leaked 5.0.0.230, but im trying to go straight to what i want...if possible.?

pls guys school me...

whats up...?

Oh I'm talking about how the media player mutes itself after one song, if you have headphones plugged in. If you are playing songs through the phone speaker, it works fine.
It's a known bug of .230, check crackberry.com

DAMN I was wondering why I never got the error. I've never used headphones, just played through the speakers. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Leaked 5.0.0.230 OS for 9630 Tour

I haven't had any issues with the media player using headphones or not. And I've used a .230 base since it came out. It could be like OS .191 doesn't load on all Blackberry's either. I know it was the only OS that wouldn't load on my Tour.
