BlackBerry Tour 9630

For those that have this what are your thoughts?

Right now I'm on an old HTC Touch so I know I'm behind the times!

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

Ive heard nothing but good things bout it.. having a touch is not behind times unless u think bout newer phones that come out. think bout it your touch can pretty much do anything the newer phones can do..I loved my touch. would still be using it if it didnt break.lol so now im sticking with my diamond til march of next year when my 2 years are up.. prolly will get a tour or diamond2 or touch pro 2.. who knows but my diamond suits me fine.. if i get bored i just cook up a new rom or change my theme.lol

anyway my point is if your happy with the touch stay with it. but if your wanting the tour go for it. just remember apples and oranges.lol

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

i had the ancient brick of a phone mogul on sprint and god that was crappy and i tried holding out until i saw the price of the tp2 and the price was outragous. i ended up getting the tour and i have to say its probably the best phone sprint has to date until the tp2 can finally come down off its high price. there's always the htc hero and even the diamond 2 eventually makes it way out

I have the tour also. After the first two I got one with a good trackball. Its simple and nice looking. Screen is bright, even if the brightness is turned down. Now that I have my tp2 I dont use it as much.Probably will sell it soon cause its not getting used like it should.

Does not having a touch screen make a difference?

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

To me it makes a big difference. With a bb you have to scroll around to get to most everything. Using a touch screen is quicker.

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

I had a treo 700wx touch screen, then the Diamond... loved them both.. but I love my Tour more... I love having the keyboard back, I do miss the simplicity of the touch screen and I miss WM when I want some fun games etc.. but the BB is smooth and now I'm making my own themes I'm finding it satisfactory in the customizing... still strange to not be able to see all my files, registry etc... Also, if you go with a Tour be sure to get one made after 8/02/09 those are said to be trackball issue free... though I'll count my lucky stars I really don't have any problems with my 7-14 build date... XXXXX fingers!

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

It allways broils down to personal choice. I had a few wm phone from the diamond, touch pro I, palm pro even the palm pre. I had an blackberry world 8830 because for a short period of time. It was a good experience, but this blackberry tour is something totally different. My BB tour operates like it has a HEMI under the hood. Im messaging like a mad man. Its not the best web browsing phone, but once install opera mini 4.2 its good. But as far multitasking messaging around business and personal needs. Im talking about work files, baby pictures etc, its nothing like it between the push technology and processor. Mann.!! Physical build, RIM OS 4.7 and the official release of RIM OS 5.0 before the end of the year.Mann..!

I noticed that I may be able to replace my Touch Pro 1, with either a TP2 or the BB tour. I'm kinda unhappy about HTC's cameras, and their lack of proper graphic drivers/software.

Do you think the Tour's video/camera is better than the TP2's?

Thanks

BB Tour is awesome. I love that phone i got the phone and gave it to my g/f , because i wanted a tp. The only reason i gave it to her was because i had to pay for Internet sharing, and with wm i just download internet sharing.

BB Tour has made my life a little easier WM was fun but, like someone said the tour it's biz with a little fun. The touch screens are over rated, there cool but not that practical . jmo

As a former TP user and abuser. I love my Tour. It took alittle getting used to not having a touch screen but the camera-video's-speaker sound quality-battery life (lasts longer than TP ever thought of). The Tour is much better than the TP's all around. Did I say I love my Tour? :laughing6:

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

I have to agree, I was nervous changing over but my B/F was going that route for work and well, since I'm his geek, I needed to know about BB's.... so I switched. I regretted it for about a week then I was over it. I'll not likely go back. Previous usage was 2.5yrs with 700wx then not quite a year with the Diamond. Both phones I loved too.... but the BB, well it just works! I had one OS reset and that was user error.

i have yet to have to do a hard reset. i didnt even do it out of the box. i just did a wireless update. took like 25-30 min. its much more stable them WM but im bored with the BB.
plus i like fixin and messin with things . but its much more stable/fast than wm
i know very weird review but comming from a weird person

Re: BlackBerry Tour 9630

I have had Treo's both Palm and WM, several Moguls and several Touch Pro's. Yes WinMo phones are easier to use than the BB Tour which I currently have but the battery life on the BB and the speaker is FAR superior than the HTC TouchPro. My TP used to only last me about 3 hours at work and it was hard to hear even with 3rd party audio apps. My Tour gets used a lot for my work and after 9 hrs at work then use at home the battery is still above 40 % (GREAT) Once you get used to it you will be hooked.

My thoughts EXACTLY! I get 2 full days on my Tour and consider it an overall upgrade from the TP(although many TP-ers will disagree) ;)

Let me welcome myself to the fold. I have been rocking a Tour for 1 week now.

Getting much better battery time than my old TP or Diamond. But I miss being able to use all my existing chargers and USB cables w/ mini-USB!!

Good thing I have a brother who works for T-Mobile! I pay cost for peripherals. :)

Welcome to the darkside!! I felt the same way with the USB chargers, I had/have so many of the regular ones to go to this skinny old thing.. lucky I have a Fry's Electronics right up the street, they have great prices on those type of things.

ive been looking into a Tour for a while, however within a month or so they should be releasing the Tour 2.

ive been on crackberry.com a lot, looking at the 'sneak peak/previews' and it seems to just be the Tour 1, with Wifi and the new Trackpad. So its not a HUGE ugprade, but I use wifi at home and work on my Diamond. However Diamond BARELY gets signal at work...hoping the Tour 2 will get more.

My rebate isn't until April 1st so i have some time, but lots of positives on the Tour 1 i've read(sans Trackball issues)
