Problem please help - Phone acting up

So I have been away from the scene for a little bit between work and school. My TP2 with android is now giving me problems. Very often when I make a call I can't hear anything until I try try again. Now it doesn't want to turn the screen on. I have to slide it open closed repeatedly and once in a blue moon when I press the top button the screen will come on. Also when I turn it off often it won't start back up. I have to remove and replace the battery repeatedly until eventually it will or I have to plug it in.

Is there any way to fix this or is there a newer build I can upgrade to? (how do I check what build I am currently using?).

I just checked:
Mod version: CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC1-hero
Android Version 2.3.7

I'd recommend switching to XDAndroid GBX0C. It works great for me.
There's also the NAND version which is said to be a bit newer and more actively-developed.

edit: Nevermind, I guess neither of them are really being worked on anymore. But they work well!

Re: Problem please help - Phone acting up

I am going to go to another phone. That requires me to revert to stock win rom. I am a little worried about doing so because if it hibernates while doing it I wont be able to wake it back up.

To turn it on I need to either plug it in then pull the battery and put it back (while plugged in) so it starts. To get it out of hibernate I need to plug it in and then pull the usb cord back out.

Is there some sort of cache or something that I might be able to wipe to maybe fix this. I know the common warning while flashing is dont turn off your phone and it will be hard to see what I am doing if it goes to sleep during the process.
