(Desperately) Need a way to keep WiFi powered on all the time

I have no cell phone service so i simply use the Google Voice app and it works greated , however the stupid WiFi shuts off during sleep , i have used Advanced WiFi lock and successfully kept the device from sleeping (orange LED) however , if the WiFi activity is zero , wifi auto disables even with the device not sleeping . anyone know of a way to change that ?

EDIT: Btw this isnt just a NAND issue , this is a problem with android , even on native devices , ive googled till my eyes bled -.-

If it's an issue on native Android devices, why even ask?!?!

LOL

I've already told you this, but I'll say it again. Someone said that CSIPSimple will keep wifi enabled. Never used the app, and I really could care less since I don't ever use wifi.

But seriously, if native devices have this problem across the board, I'm not sure what you expect us to do...

Maybe setup a script that would ping your router every minute or so. That should keep your wifi up and running.

Go to your build.prop and change wifi.supplicant_scan_interval= 25 (or to a lower value) I keep mine around 120 to save battery so lower value = less battery also I set my phone to never turn offwhile plugged in also helps keep wifi on its under setting/applications/development

Yes , it just discovered the WiFi networks quicker , i did find a solution :

Use WiFi fixer to set wifi usability to MAX (i believe this is what keeps the WiFi active constantly) then use Advanced WiFi lock to keep the device from sleeping (orange light constantly)
