best way to backup settings?

hey all,

I currently have fr07.1 running perfectly and functioning exactly how I want!

Is there a way to backup the whole OS, or maybe even create an image of my SD card so I can restore it to this point if something goes wrong down the road?

Will titanium backup do this for me? Or do I need to look into something else?

Thanks!

Yep it sure will and it allows batch backups. :)
Edit - I also always create an entire backup on my laptop incase something goes awry.

Titanium backs up apps and data... which is 99% of what you'd want. If you care about SMS messages you'll have to back those up in another way. If you backup system stuff it'll get alarms, wifi access points, etc...

If you truly want a snapshot, copy your data.img. Only problem with that is there's no guarantee you can drop it in and it'll work. Hence why TB is more fool-proof, but doesn't get 100%.

Could I just copy all the contents of the SD card over to a folder on my computer?

Isn't that the same effect?

I guess, but you'd be copying a bunch of stuff you don't need. The data.img file is the only file that should have changes in it from you.

Feel free to backup the entire SD if you wish, I just want you to know that's not necessary :p.
