netfilter- supported kernels

I would like to use droidwall to block off internet access to unwanted applications, as the dataplan I use is limited and very expensive. Are there any kernels out there that support droidwall/netfilter/iptables for TP2 ?

Modules are there, just not enabled.

See this post. That's the 'easy way' to always have them enabled.

Of course, it's like anything else. A particular kernel release might not work great with something in particular, even if the modules are there. I was using the 2nd may 06 kernel and droidwall wouldn't operate, even with the proper modprobes arrrghhh linked to. I have the 6/22 kernel now and it works. It's worked on all the .39 kernels I've tried.

If after editing your user conf or using manekineko's, you still have problems, try another kernel.

Strange, droidwall didn't work for me on any .39 kernels. Which is why I'm still running .27...

Re: netfilter- supported kernels

The first .39 kernel I used was the 20110611_221301 kernel, if you're interested. That was the first time I got droidwall to operate at all.

In fairness I've only used one other .39 kernel, and it's been long enough ago, I can't be certain that I checked to make sure droidwall was working before I rolled back to 611, so perhaps I overstated things.

Droidwall works out of the box with ACL's new kernel (with working 3.5 mm jack). Yeah!!!
