battery drains quick
it seems like the last couple of andriod ports i've tried, my battery drains VERY fast. I've been using TIAD's ports. Even tried using both the APNAndroid to turn off the data connection, but also tried Juice Defender. With Juice Defender, the phone would hang and not wake up. Today I put WinMo back on... But, I would rather have Android running on my TP2, but can't live with the battery draining so quickly.
Any suggestions? Thanks |
Re: battery drains quick
Do you have any apps loaded that would run in the background? What about GPS? Bad signal area? Any apps that are sucking up data or running in the background are going to drain your battery a lot faster than normal. I'm not getting days of battery life but it has been getting better and better, but I'm also on FRX05 and I'm not sure which build you're on.

Re: battery drains quick
I use FRX05 and QuickSettings (grab from market) IMHO better than ApnDroid or Juice ( haven't actually tried Juice) but it allows you to turn off the Data/Wifi (I read somewhere Wifi doesn't ever truly turn off once turned on..huh?) from your notification bar. I get a decent amount of time but I have poor service so that contributes to my problems..

Re: battery drains quick
I've had a lot of people report horrible things after using JuiceDefender.
I strongly suggest you don't use that. I also would try FRX05 ;). |
Re: battery drains quick
I have bad signal at my work and at home. I thought I read somewhere that FRX05 doesn't play friendly with GMail accounts. I thought I was making sure GPS and wifi was turned off in the background.

can someone tell me how to check what background services are running? |
Re: battery drains quick
I believe arrrghhh uses system panel lite but I haven't used one. Give that one a shot and let us know how it works.

Re: battery drains quick
i downloaded the system panel lite and just stopped all the processes and restarted android. I couldnt figure out which was causing the blinking led so i had to close all of them and restart. I got back the solid green led so i have no clue which process was running in the background. Thanks for the tip!
