android Touch Screen Problem?

Hello, i was just wondering if anyone else was having a problem with the touch screen in the latest android build with my TP2 it is extremely touchy and it will not respond correctly when i touch the screen for example if i touch the program list menu button on the home screen it will somehow press a shortcut on the top of the screen.
if anyone has a solution for this please let me know thanks :)

Just sounds like you should recalibrate it.

Delete the ts-calibration file and boot again. Watch the boot process - you have to go thru the recalibration process or else it won't work at all.

Don't recal, just drop the ts-calibration file from aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy main packet build. For the cheap seats, just use a ts-calibration file from frx03/04 or tiads sense/froyo X.

Can someone get me touch.dll ?

The calibration points are written on nand and since we can read of nand now we should be able to load the calibration points that were stored. However we dont know where they are stored and this is why i need the dlls..

thanks..

I tried but can not copy that file because it is using by system, I think we can extract from ROM dump :)

Re: android Touch Screen Problem?

can someone rip it out then please?

the alternative is extremely painful to do.. Unless somo one wants to do it

So boot into haret and cat out mtd to sdcard

cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 > /sdcard/nand0.img

Then boot back into winmo and launch the calibration app and change the calib points and save it just a bit.

Then boot back into haret and redump but this time to nand1.img. We do a binary compare to see what changed..

any brave souls ?

Hmmm...I posted the touch* earlier today, but apparently it didn't go thru, I have to do it tonight since I don't have it in my work computer.

Hi, just installed the latest build and am having problems with it registering the Touch Screen. It doesn't seem to do anything or has a really long lag time when I touch my screen. I saw the advice about deleting the TS-calibration file, I deleted it but I wasn't asked to recalibrate and it's still giving me the same problems. Any info/suggestions would be great, thanks.

If you're using one of my builds, I post directions on how to calibrate. Basically delete the ts-calib file and use a kernel that's old so it won't flood the calibration section. I haven't done a lot of testing on this lately, but AFAIK this is still an issue on newer kernels. I usually recommend 1225, but any kernel that's before the .35 fb commit will work.

And as far as being sluggish and not responding to touch, if its on initial boot or even after a reboot, let it settle in a bit and it will be snappy as its supposed to be.
