The difference is one is closed-source, written by DFT. The other is open source, originally written for the Vogue by the legendary dzo. Fortunately he made it open source, so we're able to pick it apart and try to shoehorn it onto the RHOD.

MAGLDR is closed source as I said above, and basically written from the ground up per device. Talking to some of the devs, it seems if you know how to write a bootloader it's much easier to just write your own then trying to port another to work on your hardware. However, if you don't know how to write bootloaders... yea don't have much choice but port .

Hope that answers the questions. There are some "advanced features" in MAGLDR, and I say the more the merrier. They both achieve the same end goal, NAND flash 'droid...

ACL has a CDMA phone, but cotulla has a GSM.
So MAGLDR will only be availbe for the GSM phones...Unless he somehow gets ahold of a CDMA one.

But we currently have NAND working on the CDMA phones.
Hopefully ACL will have something to test in the next day or two.

Re: MAGLDR being ported to Rhodium

I have been running the XDAndroid for my Verizon TP2, its cool to play with but not to run all day it lags alot and not all functions work properly. This news is pretty cool, but I haven't followed the HD2 version much. When available is this going to be a full port that can be flashed? I like the idea of dual boot because I still like alot of the functions of my WM.
