camera working in latest xdandroid build?

i have searched the threads about the camera being fixd in android while on TP2. There hasnt been any updates or references to it in a while. I was jus wondering if anybody has gotten it to work because that and the mms is the only reason im not usin android 24/7...any help is appreciated

Nope, no official progress on camera. I know bzo and some of the other devs have been looking into it, but they haven't committed anything pertaining to it yet. I believe the initialization sequence is what is holding them back right now.

Dunno, try reading the thread about it or ask in there. I don't use MMS, so I don't really follow that at all.

I think the picture speaks for itself :)

before you guys get too excited, only the preview is working so far and there is still a bunch of work to do, so this is just a tease of the progress. Thanks to all the devs who have helped out, particularly Jbruneaux who cracked most of the hard problems.

I sent my rhodium camera patches to Jbruneaux and he has integrated them into his camera test kernels. So head over here if you want to help out with testing:

man when i looked at ur attached picture i damn near had a heart attack...does that mean most of the hardwork is done n u guys jus need to get video working and then get it on a kernel?

Re: camera working in latest xdandroid build?

ok guys, after a bit of a false start, the rhodium camera is working now in Jbruneaux's test kernel. Remember to put in the new parameter in your startup.txt and note that the overclocking sleep mode 1 fix is not in that kernel yet

Good call bzo. Didn't realize the sleep mode commit wasn't in that kernel yet...

Not sure how messy the code looks, and I hate to ask... but how are we looking as far as committing this? It works great for me, but I've only snapped a few pics. There's going to be a lot of MMS questions now... ;)

The committing is in Jbruneaux's hands, so you might want to ask over there. The code is clean, but I think he wants to get stuff working on the full set of devices.

The camera works just fine, but MMS is another story. Next build will support MMS natively... FRX06 does not out of the box.

Please, let's work the issue out here. You PM'ing me the exact same question is a little maddening.

There's no upgrade path from BLAZN to FRX06. Just start fresh with FRX06.

Ok. Please check out my PM. I really don't want to mess up anything because sometimes this can get a little bit complicated.

This probably isn't the right thread to post in. Why don't you post in the build thread you're using?

Also, USB tethering works fine. See the FAQ.

Lastly, there's no point in making your font bold and huge... Kinda seems like you're yelling w/o the caps lock.
