Questions about apps

Does the amount of apps in the /sdcard/Andboot/AndroidApps affect the amount of time it takes to boot?

Is the command "pm setInstallLocation 2" permanent meaning I issue it and reboot it is still set

if i issue "pm setInstallLocation 2" and a dev has set the app to phone only will i get a not able to install app error

if "pm setInstallLocation 2" is permanent then do the apps in /sdcard/Andboot/AndroidApps get forced to sdcard or do they install as "setInstallLocation 0"

Re: Questions about apps

Uhm... all apps get installed to the SD whether we like it or not... the data.img houses basically any changes the user makes, and it's on the SD card. So that is Android's world until we get a full NAND flash.

I like the way Android works with everything being SD... dont have to worry about delevoper's apps not supporting app-to-sd yet lol

ext2 partitions only apply to the neopeek builds - they have nothing to do with mainline XDAndroid. ext3 is a journaled file system, and you shouldn't format an SD card with it.

The app is designed for native Android devices - so what it's seeing is not what is there. We loop mount the disk images, so the system knows nothing about how it's installed. Therefore, some apps like that will think they can move stuff around, when in reality they're doing nothing.

If they are doing anything, they'd be moving the app from your data.img (which is on your SD card already, but what the app thinks is your phone's storage) to another location on your SD card, like at the root /sdcard.
