Make sure the terminal is using the root user account. The terminal app I was using logged in as a standard user and I had to switch to the root account to do anything.

Really? If so, I just tried to install "android-wifi-tether" to make it a hotspot. Yeah, I did install the app, but it keep saying "Unable to start tethering, please try again."

Anyone can give me a clue?

Thanks!

Simon

Android-wifi-tether doesn't work on a lot of actual Android phones. I'd say try another version or try a different wifi tether app.

Crosspost much?

You can't expect every app to work perfectly on our phones - heck, some don't work on native Android devices... It all just depends.

XDA Wifi Tether works for me.

I didn't find "XDA Wifi Tether", but "Barnacle Wifi Tether". And I tried it and it works great for me!

Not sure what this means - it's rooted already. Are you referring to running android frx07 off an SD card? Has anyone been able to really root the android successfully on the HTC TOUCH PRO2? Which android version is that? Thanks.
