This is a Thread to get Adobe Flash working on your android Froyo phone.
1. Goto Settings/Application settings and check unknown sources. (Allow installation of non-Market Applications. 2. Download the com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk file either using windows mobile or your computer these have worked the best for me. 3. Copy the file on to your storage card/andboot/AndroidApps 4. Boot up Android and your done. Now go to youtube and try it out. Please show your appreciation if I help you out today.:laughing6: Thank you for reading my post. |
Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
Also I just want to know what you think about flash on Android Froyo. I personally think I works great. It works way better than Skyfire.

Though it doesn't seem to be working for me. :(
I tried it a few times using the standard android browser and no flash comes through. |

Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
I am currently watching Yahoo Fantasy Football on Flash with the default android browser and I am loving it.
Kwiksilver what how did you install the adobe flash? Remember it does not work with the standard adobe flash test but. I does open up Flash content. Like I said I am currently watching Yahoo Fantasy Football on my android phone. |
Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
Are there any switches that I can put in Startup.txt that would allow the programs in the \ANDBOOT\AndroidApps to initiate installation on boot up of programs in that folder? I really don't want to have to delete my data.img in order to get this to work. I always notice now on boot up in HaRET that it says omitting \ANDBOOT\AndroidApps and \ANDBOT\AndroidApps\Games.

Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
There's got to be a way like when you initially launch Andriod for it to not omitt folder /sdcard/AndroidApps , but I've been Googling to see if there is a way to turn off the omitt at least once so we can have it launch the Flash 10.1 installer on boot up and haven't found a solution. Somewhere I saw a thread where Reefermattness suggested going to Settings> Applications and enable Sideloading (however, I can't find that option anywhere in there). I've got "Unkown sources" check marked and I can manually install non-market stuff? IDK.....

It installed for me, but it doesn't work. Browsed to a couple sites that have flash content and the flash portions didn't load.

Just FYI For some reason I think the trick is to get it to install on boot up when less processes are running. Whenever I've tried to install it manually I would get a prompt about it being a system application. |
Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
I can not play game with flash too all I can do is watch video clip and that is all.

I wasn't trying to play a game. I went to sites with flash banners and other similar items.

Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
OK, the adobe flash has it's limitations first off you can only watch in mobile browser mode. If you try to get it to work with desktop mode it will not work.
Secondly it only plays mobile video clips in mobile browser mode. Thirdly it does not play HD quality videos. If you try to play a HD video you will see a blank screen. See if you can get it to work. Mostly importantly do not try to install it directly to your phone it will not work you have to copy the 3.75 MB file into your storage card and put it into the Andboot/Android Apps folder. Boot android and it will automatic install during the boot up. The is only a flash video clip player in mobile view. I hope this clears up any confusion. I hope somebody else gets this to work too. |
Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
I dont think Flash is really installed, a site like m.flash.com will not work, I do see it under installed application at 3.X mb , so even if the system reports that it is installed correctly , i dont really see it working... how did you test?

Maybe change the title of the the thread to be more accurate?

Re: How to get Flash working on Android Froyo.
Try opening up a youtube or a yahoo video using the standard browser. Remember use the mobile browser and not the desktop browser.

Re: How to get mobile flash working to watch video clips.

Re: How to get mobile flash working to watch video clips.
I find it pointless to view video on webpages as most video sites have dedicated apps that you could just install and view the videos. Unless it would allow me to see other flash content, I just find it pointless.
