Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium

Thanks, I was finally able to install the Backup Manager. I backed up Street Fighter and Tekken 6 (both games that I own). Street Fighter loads up but I can't press any buttons to get past the opening scene. When I tried loading up Tekken 6, it just froze my PS3.

Anyone have similar experiences?

Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium

also idk how many read thru the tread at xda but the orginal posted psfreedom.ko file needed to be edited to redirect the bdvd hence why discs wouldnt load after being backed up

so hex edit it if it it says bdvm to bdvd and you should be golden

EDIT - so i was reading some of the xda page, and how/why is this working?? everything says you need to be rooted-which apparently isnt so if you guys are doing it on your TP2 Android builds.. just curious is all.. i know PS3 people have been wanting this for a while, so Im just trying to up my knowledge base
The Android ASOP allowed root access by default. No reason to build a locked one since no one wants it.

Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium

Im pretty new to the scene and cant find any answers elsewhere. Can someone please give me some advise on how to accomplish jailbraiking my ps3 with Touch Pro 2? I have had one successful attempt and I installed backup manager and ftp. Then I shut off the unit as I went to sleep, woke up and tried it again and it does not work anymore. I pretty sure I am doing everything the same way I did the 1st time. I boot xdandroid while synced and then open dev tools and enter the commands correctly. I then plug in the usb with the unit shut off (fat ps3) and then turn on the unitpower switch and press power then eject like super fast. So I think I am doing everything correctly? I have no other usb devices connected, no game in drive. Also do you got to have the phone synced everytime you run the above mentioned process everytime for this to work? Someody please helps. Thanks!!!

I thought that it didn't make any actual changes to the ps3, so the jailbreak would go away every time the ps3 is powered off?

Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium

Thanks for the reply!!! I should have been more specific. Yes I turned off the system and repeated the process when I turned the PS3 back on as mentioned here (my sources) PSFreedom for HTC Touch (Raphael) & Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 | PS3 Hacks :: PS3 Homebrew :: PS3 Downloads and Using PSFreedom - PSFreedom Wiki so I know I got to repeat the process each time I turn on the PS3. The thing is that when I do and repeat the process ass mention on my 1st post it does not work. If you have a working TP2 jailbrake that is successful all the time please let me know and please be specific of your process if different from mine and please give any advise for this reply and as stated in previous post as well. Also do you got to have the phone synced and then run xdandroid everytime you run the above mentioned process everytime for this to work (touch pro 2). Please advise. Thank you!!!

Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium

it wont work every time the phone needs to send the code at a certain time and if u miss it the ps3 wont jailbreak and u have to re power cycle this is a lil problem we have seen as we dont have a truely working usb hub function on are builds so seen as u got it working once then you are fine on ur files also grab a copy of gscript form the market and write the script in that it will save u time opening up the terminal and typing each time u need to jailbreak .... god i cant wait for a tethered jailbreak
