I have never tried a stripped down ROM but I'm going to give it a try. I usually just run MightyRom's latest official build so it will be interesting to see if this helps with anything when running Android.

Thanks for posting it up!

So running the stripped rom will greatly improve performance? I notice the slughish behavior while running android from the sd card. It is bareable, runs about the same as windows. So im hoping once im running android full time then it will be much faster than windows. Not sure if i want to go full time, i use the blutooth to transfer files every now and then.

No, this is only for those who want to run Android as their primary OS. This ROM is stripped down and has the bare essentials to boot up Windows. Mainly for faster boot time, meaning less time to get into Android.

Can someone confirm the download works?

Not sure if maybe it just didn't work right because I was trying to download from my phone. Tried twice. Will have to try when I get home on the PC

I just downloaded it and it works.

Any chance an enterprising chef out there could make a dual booting ROM that gives the choices (that defaults to Android if you don't choose anything) to boot to either Android or the stripped down WinMo?

there already is a program that does that called Gen Y DualBoot

Re: Here are Calkins stripped rom for android

I tried using both of these roms and here's what i found:

the 6.1 version doesn't have any way to change the backlight settings so when in android the buttons on the phone are always lit up

neither version has quickGPS installed which is needed to locate the satellites for gps.
