How Many SMS does android project allow?
 

I'm loading from my windows phone.
I have 21536 that I'm loading up... well trying.
SMS Backup and Restore is 40% done and slowing down.
The last time I tried to do this, it got to about 60% and then hung.

I think the better question is why do you need 21k text messages on your phone? really???????

cause I want to put them there and then see if the phone handles it better than winmo... winmo dies at 1K. Plus, I want to load them all up and then use SMS Backup to send them all to my gmail.

I used to have 15000 on my phone lol, this was before I knew how to flash though haha my noob self.. Anyways in Android, I got to about 3000 when I had a Hero, I was waiting for an update that got shelved, it worked fine, but it was so much slower.. I always delete them on android at around 500, and trust me, backing up to gmail takes foreverrrrrrrrrrrr, you can only back up 200 at a time I think and it takes almost a second to back up one text, so it'll take you quite a long time

So using SMS Backup & Restore, I can take all my texts and put them into one XML. When I loaded the file with 21K in it, I got to 10K and the phone crawled. Then I cut the 21K into 4 files. I loaded a 5.1K file and it got to 40% and crawled.... a few hours later it was done and the phone was basically dead. Windows and Android stopped working for the most part all night.

I'm going to re-flash my windows install and then try in android again.

and 15K on the tp2 in winmo is the worst. winmo dies at 1-2K. Also, SMS Backup (gmail syncer) I think only remembers times and not some other sort of hashing method so if you load older sms's it won't back them up.

The other weird thing is that the backups have SMS with null and awful lot in gmail convos.
