I disgree. Yeah, there are some problems, but I've been way too spoiled by Froyo on my TP2 to use WinMob again. Except when I need to take a picture, anyway!

If Verizon ever gets around to releasing a decent QWERTY Android-smartphone, I'll be all over it. The D/D2 keyboard is unusable, IMHO. Until then, I'm loving Android on my trusty old TP2.

i agree 100% with MrPib. Haven't seen anything out there with a better KB than the TP2

Don't get me wrong, I load up android every morning, and just leave it on winmo at night, but there are also times during the day when I have to jump back to winmo due to batt life or receiving a MMS for business (yeah, there are still peeps out there that would rather use mms over e-mail for pics). And there is still the occasional force close or rebooting out of the blue. But all in all, I'm happier than a pig in poop with my droid port. And no, there is no other kb that even comes close!

Re: Goodbye Touchpro 2 - You will be missed

I was lucky enough to have an Epic placed into my hands for testing and when it was all said and done I got to keep the phone so my TP2 has been retired to the "Loaner Pool" at work since it can be used with a simm card when we have someone traveling overseas. In all honesty it was a somewhat bittersweet parting because I really wanted to like the phone but WinMo made it very hard to do. Running Android on it over the past couple of months had breathed new life into it for me and I could have kept using it except for the fact I had an Epic pretty much handed to me for free. The Epic is the first non HTC/WinMo "smart phone" that I have had and the one thing that I will be interested in seeing is how the hardware holds up. I went through 3 Moguls, 3 Touch Pros, and 3 Touch Pro 2's with a screen/slider replacement due to freaky power button issues. I use a phone to it's limits with my job and I wonder if I had all of these issues because of me or because of sub par quality with the HTC hardware. Only time will tell.

GOODBYE YOU SUCKERS!!! I'm getting the HTC Merge tomorrow, so all of you -- devs and users alike -- can take your buggy Android port and your ancient hardware and shove it right up your a...

Huh? The Merge is delayed for LTE? Oh. Soooooooooo, how's everybody doing? Nice weather today...

[I'm joking of course, except for the rumored delay of the rumored Merge. I'm loving Android on my TP2. I'm very grateful for all of the time that's been put into the port].

Re: Goodbye Touchpro 2 - You will be missed

Long story short, I had a TP2 Verizon, then replaced by verizon with another TP2, then no more TP2 in Verizon stock for replacements. They offered me the Imagio. I said NO.

After an hour or two they force fed me the Devour. after three replacements they gave me the Droid X. No contract extension, no new every 2. so i still have my upgrade eligible. just waiting for 4G LTE to come out.

That is my main phone now. But I did get a hold of a nother TP2 verizon brand later on as a back up if and when the android os is fully. Miss the TP2 but I am loving the 4.3" screen alot more. Miss that slide out Qwerty though

Re: Goodbye Touchpro 2 - You will be missed

I made the jump to an Epic before ever installing Android on my TP2. Well, my gf is using the TP2 now, and she liked Android, so I set it all up and overclocked it and it runs great! This is really breathing life into an old phone

HOWEVER, the whole experience is still a joke compared to the Epic

except for the keyboard of course, best. keyboard. ever
