I'm on the AOSP 2.1 Android .cab file from 6/23, and loving it. I want to use it permanently (until the Droid X comes out). I understand the camera, bluetooth, speakerphone don't work, but how do I get the backlight to work? Also, the headphone jack doesn't work. |
Re: No keyboard backlight?
I guess I need to have the keyboard backlight on as I boot Android, although it makes the lights stay on the whole time. I just slide open the keyboard just before pressing the "Run Android" button.

Re: No keyboard backlight?
Did this work for you?
Edit: This worked for me. Open the keyboard before running Android and make sure your keys are lit. Then boot to Android and they will always be lit... However I dont know what the longterm effects of this will be... Edit2: Phone is starting to get warmer progressively.... not a very good solution. |
Re: No keyboard backlight?
Its not a solution. lol. I dont think its that hard to implement but right now its actually in the bottom of the list of things to fix. Right under camera and other things of that sort.
does any other android phone have this feature? If it anything similar to setting the jogball led light, then its not that bad. But when would it be enabled ? just when the kb slides out? sometimes i notice on my tp2 that the light is off even when the kb is out. need to get that logic sorted out before this issue is attacked. |
Re: No keyboard backlight?
From searching the Raphael Android thread on XDA it appears that they have the keyboard light working on their phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=4214 I think the logic should be that pulling the keyboard out enables the light with a idle timeout. Any button press would enable the backlight again or restart the idle timeout. |
