for data, make sure you create an apn. i had the same problem with the 2.2 froyo build from .rar.

For people using Froyo builds, i found out my problem was #4 not adding the force cdma in the startup.txt. After adding that data started working again for me.

dude was that with the sim in or out? I dont like taking my sim out, i get that big icon that shows i have no sim in right where my service bars are suppose to be
