Android AOSP 2.1 CDMA Build - 04/15/10

Here's a build I put together. It's stinebd and phhusson's AOSP system.sqsh. I like it better than the current XDAndroid build, because it's much cleaner. It also doesn't have Facebook installed, so there's no issues updating it

Thanks! It seems to be a little faster than the current build in the stickies. I think its a great alternative for those who want the bare, clean Android OS.

Having some issues w/ market on this build with my Sprint RHOD400... all installation are unsuccessful, citing lack of storage space.

Re: Android AOSP 2.1 CDMA Build - 04/13/10

That lack of storage space message you are getting might not be related to just this distro because I updated to a later zimage with the main distro in this thread and I'm now getting that same message too. I'd love to figure it out, but I don't have a clue why its is doing this. My data.img claims to have 177MB free in Android and yet I'm still seeing these out of space errors. FYI

I'm on Sprint and everything is installing and running fine for me. I've installed the task manager, Facebook, Engadet, and Maps. Try formatting your card and starting over

Tried it. Data's not working and I cannot skip "Create / Connect to Google account"

Edit: nevermind, I'm an idiot. Forgot to remove SIM card.

I'm thinking Technix is right - I'm on latest kernel (as of today). Must be a kernel issue. Is best place to report this #htc-linux, or on glemsom autobuild site?

I updated the system.sqsh, zImage, and rootfs and uploaded a new build. It's not really worth updating unless you need the core files that aren't available on the Marketplace, such as email.apk

I have the .cab version of android installed on my TP2. How does the process for installing this differ?

Just drop it on the storage card?

Oh. Thought you would at least know to unzip it. While it is on your computer be sure to unzip it. Use Winzip or 7zip. Then transfer the files you just unzipped to the sd card. Then from your phone go to your sd card and run haret.exe

If you don't know how to unzip then google it. I think my 13 year old brother knows how to unzip files.

It doesn't have the native Android email client, which is very convenient because if you have several emails you can add them there.
When I installed this build i lost that ability, so I went back to the old one.
How can I install this build and get the email client installed as well?

With this version I have lost the ability to use g-talk integrated within my contact list. Any reason this feature was left out? I really enjoyed it.

Didn't have enough space on the SD. But now I'm getting a Superblock error.

Edit - Formatting SD card and retrying.

Edit 2 - Quick formatting Fat32 in Windows seems to have done the trick. At the Android load screen now.

What should I format it to? FAT32, FAT, etc?

Ha, sorry, I used the search feature and it didn't show anything for formatting, but i just scrolled up and saw that FAT32 should work... Thanks anyway.

+1 - I dont seem to be getting as many "wait" errors as I do with the XDAndroid build.

So far so good! Thanked.

Any conflicts with the newer kernel builds?

In regards to the issue with no data on GSM providers, I was able to go into the APN settings in the mobile networks and set up the carrier frequencies for my provider (t-mobile) and it seemed to get data back online pretty quickly after I installed the build. Anyone have any idea whats going on with the sound/Mic aspect of the build... that honestly would be the biggest step forward in my oppinion.. not having a ringer sux :)

Re: Android AOSP 2.1 CDMA Build - 04/15/10

Hi, I installed this version of Android AOSP, in the boot process, just before booting would finish and the user interface would appear, I get the error

request suspend state:wakeup at "numbers"
init: untracked pid "numbers" exited

The error just keep cycling while the "numbers" keep getting larger.

I have tried nearly everything including long formattting my SD card, then extracting all the android files back to the root of the card, I still have the same issue.

Any help would be great. I'm running mightyrom SE if that makes a difference.
