This is nothing but an android loading ROM. without android on your SD, this is nothing. IT NEEDS ANDROID FILES ON YOUR SD.

This is basically just 21895 (what is left of it), OEMDRIVERS, WM kernel and the haret loader with initrd.gz (3/8/10) in internal storage to load the kernel from SD:

Original idea from calkulin, well, xxxvirusxxx told me to make it..

1 minute and 46 seconds from power button to android desktop (after the first boot of course)

edit: this is really just proof of concept. IMO, android is not ready for every day use, more for just fun at this time.

hah, thanks.

its really pretty cool, as new android builds come out all you need to do is update them on your SD... eventually we will get the ability to read the SD card in the device via USB and that will be a good day. that and audio and bluetooth for me :)

It's amazing how everyone is getting ready for that day when Android is viable everyday alternative to Winmo. I wonder how many people will switch to it full time?

Can you modify this and add the dualboot app? I would like to have the option to boot into a stripped down WM6.5 :]. Since I still need to charge the phone and we can only currently do that either with the phone off or in WM.

Only a request, would be glad if you could make it happen.

I don't think this is a barebones WM install, like Calkulin's. I think it's just enough of WM to autoload Haret.exe. It's a good 15MB less than Calkulin's ROM.

this is correct. there is no user interface for WM included at all, simply enough to start haret, as boushh has stated.

edit: nevermind, you got it. I liked android so much even while running from SD that I made the jump to verizon to get a droid :)

I moved on to an Evo myself :)

Giving up SERO sucked, but now that it's done I have no regrets. And with the recent release of Slingplayer, all of my must-have WM apps are basically covered.

Is the Droid X calling your name, or are you going to stick with the Droid (original) for a while?

same way as it is set to run android from sd in any rom

and no I am not going to give up my hardware keyboard, but only for SNESoid. I type with the SIP lol, hw kbd only for snes games (I already played through super metroid, chrono trigger, earthbound, I am working on secret of mana now)

nothing beats sitting in a dr office or osmething and being able to play old snes classic rpgs!

sounds like your sd is not set up properly, make sure you can boot to android from a regular windows mobile rom then come to mine, all mine does it boot android, without android on SD it will make the phone useless.

slightly panicked tbf, i got stuck on the rpgd (or whatever) with black and white lines and then it just stops. So i did the whole voulme down and reset and then reflashed a normal rom. What set up should I have had my sd card, I have it in a andboot folder on the sd card, does it have to be directly on the sd card? Should it have stopped at that screen regradless of the sd?

p.s yeah yeah I just wanted it boot straight to android :)

As I recall, once it gets past initrd it tries to then load components from SD. If it cant, it will hang. It has been a long time but I think I had my android files in a folder called android. Just follow the tutorials and get it working from any WM rom (it doesnt matter which because when haret loads it kicks WM completely out of RAM so there is no difference as far as android performance is concerned) and then try mine once you get your SD set up correctly. Sorry I cannot be of more help

Thanks anyway I'll give it another go, I have android at the moment booting fine of the sd card with everything inside a folder called andboot. I'll try renaming this to android and see if i can get it to work

stuff has probably changed since I made this also, maybe the layout is different and stuff like that..
