Re: best cdma rom to run android

are you asking what android roms? because there aren't any flashable ones yet. If you are asking what winmo rom to boot android from than i guess something light, titanium only.

I didn't think it would matter since WinMo is kicked out of the memory when haret is loaded...

i'm on mightyrom and its running fine... not 100% sensitive on the screen, but i guess some minor delays & bugs are expected due to the stage its in but it has come quite far from when I tried it a few months ago...

I just use GPS daily so I can't dedicate to much time to it, but I know once GPS is fixed, and the APP's are available for us to download I'll be messing with it more..

I have yet to try it, can we not download the APP's to use on an actual version of andriod on the "winmo" andriod?(I know it's not got anything really to do with winmo, but it is the best way I can differentiate the two.) I heard CDMA data wasn't working so I haven't looked anything into it yet.

Calkulin's Stripped ROM is design for actually booting android from the device memory. Its pretty cool read post 1 of the his thread.

Not to be a **** or anything but if this forum gets filled with stupid threads like this and becomes unreadable I (and many others I'm sure) will be very unhappy. I really hope the mods take good care of it.

In my opinion, any thread that starts with "what is the best (insert anything here ROM, App, etc.)" should get auto deleted. There is no best anything, every ROM has someone who swears its the fastest, best, most stable, you get the picture. This combined with the fact that the OP's time would have been much better spent simply thinking, and then finding the most stripped down ROM to flash (10 min tops in the upgrade forum since calk's wasn't posted at this point). If he wants to run Android, I'm fairly confident he is tech savvy enough to make the connection that less stuff = more resources for Android. I just fear that this forum will turn into a place where people who haven't been following the project and aren't willing to read threads that have been around for a long time start posting every question they have that's already been answered. I have faith in the mods i just hope at least one or two of them dedicate some time to this forum because Android for TP2 is MOVIN! Like I said, not trying to cut anyone down or be a d***, cluttered forums just make me wanna ](*,).

hands down

RAIDZERO rom boots the fastest and has only titanium

Re: best cdma rom to run android

^^Calk has now cooked a ROM specifically to run android over that has a 29 MB footprint (!) but yeah if you still want a completely functional WM phone as well that's a good ROM.

I would disagree, it gives people that have actually used those roms a chance to say why they are so great. When I first got into flashing my tp2 it was thanks to threads like that that got me onto Mighty's roms. Now if someone asked what is the best calculator program, then yeah, that's just kind of ridiculous. But a rom is a major part of our phone use and can largely affect our enjoyment of our phone.

Re: best cdma rom to run android

I think it doesnt matter what rom is best to run android, only one that boots the fastest. once it boots WM is thrown out of memory. In that case, use that calkulin one or the one that I have in my kitchen that is uploading tonight. mine is only WM sys and drivers, no other packages and it autoloads haret before anything else. from power on to android desktop in under 2 mins about (after first boot of course - first boot takes forever no matter what). calks is also quite fast to boot as it has nothing in it either. :)

as far as a rom that is bloated being better than a stripped one, also does not matter as android kernel at the moment cannot even read the internal storage of our phones.

its all about boot time ;)

Mr.X 6.5 with (Manila 2.5) of course! As of now, you've got to get back to Winmo sometimes - and when you do, you should have a good ROM.

Thanks sent to both of you - simply for being smart about your Winmo ROM! :)

It's the best 2.5 manila out there.
