I'm all for options, just make sure you have ACL's permissions to repackage some of his stuffs. Also, credits are nice ;).

But like I said, the more the merrier I say.

Great initiative, but it looks to iPhoney for my taste.

Yeah, I'm not up on all the various custom android ROMs. My TP2 is the first "real android" I've used thanks to ACL and OMGB (FRX was close, but having to boot through WinMo was such a let down).

So far I'm happy with AOSP + Zeam and the total lack of the carrier bloat that gets loaded with a regular phone.

Fancy pants UI is nice, but IMHO not necessary.

I applaud muziling's initiative to give TP2 users an alternative - even if it's not my cup o tea.

Chinese. MIUI was developed by Chinese people, for Chinese people to be an iPhone knockoff.

I've seen some English and some Chinese both.
Most is in English.
Works good, but I don't like the style and the missing features.

I gave it a try, but it's just a different world from what I've known android to be. Still I have to give you props for putting it together. I've been trying for weeks now to compile my first build, and it's just not happening. If anyone wants to give me a hand here, I'd love to get a recent build of CyanogenMod together. Currently, I have one, but it seems to flop with mem leaks when I start opening things. (7zip developed) Good job though buddy. ACL has been working hard, and like the post above, it's always good to have options. Updated ones are even better.

Hi.

Just installed on my RHOD500, it says there's no SIM installed. Why is it not detecting my CDMA network? This never happened with OMGB.

Great initiative, good luck!

Strange, default network is set to 4, goto setting, manual select CDMA network or use 4636 to switch to CDMA.

Hi!

Thanks for your quick response.

I'll try to provide a more detailed explanation:

I installed MIUI, and to the left of the notification bar it says NO SERVICE, and to right there's a SIM icon with a question mark and the signal bars have an X.

I went into SETTINGS-->WIRELESS and airplane mode is ticked (although I have no airplane mode icon in the notification bar) and the mobile networks option is grayed out, so I cant manually select CDMA. WIFI wouldn't active, it's stuck on OBTAINING IP ADDRESS.

I didn't get the part where you told me to use 4636 to change to CDMA, how do I do that? In the dialer?

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help track down the problem.

UPDATE 1: Just tried re-installing, but this time I formatted my SD card and copied only the miui zip file. No dice, it still says NO SIM CARD and doesn't recognize my CDMA network.

UPDATE 2: popped in a SIM card, it recognizes it, but still no bars. Went into wireless settings and airplane mode is ticked. When deactivated, it says enabling wireless connections but it never does.

I noticed getlogs is installed. I pulled logs, hope you can find something useful.

[ro.telephony.default_network]: [0]

Did you modified this prop value? This prop is defined in file build.prop, set value to 4, 0 is detected and forced to GSM service with my custom ril.so

4636 means dial *#*#4636#*#*

Nope, I installed the zip just as you posted it. I don't even know how to modify build.prop:dontknow:

I'll try later to force CDMA using 4636, thanks!

By the way, is [ro.telephony.default_network]: [0] forcing the build to start in airplane mode? Why can't I deactivate it?

Re: [TESTING] - NAND MIUI

Quick question muzz, just out of curiosity, does your build of MIUI use the Extended Settings app?

It caused airplane mode to be stuck on boot for some folks using a ROM over at XDA, here's the link :[28.Nov.11] [ROM] brainmaster's MIUI NS4G 1.11.25 | OTA

Ok, digged around, found out how to modify build.prop. Changed [ro.telephony.default_network]: [0] to [ro.telephony.default_network]: [4] and I've got signal! Yey!

Thanks a lot for your help, I'll keep an eye on your build, I really like MIUI.

Re: [TESTING] - NAND MIUI

After a week of use, I can tell you I'm very pleased with this ROM, great job Muzz!!!

I've had a few hiccups, but no deal breakers. For example, every time I try to unmount the sd card or to use usb storage mode I get a soft reboot (back to the android screen). I pull some logs when I get a chance.
