Re: NAND Boot Testing - 12-14: Panel power on and off working on some devices

ok running the full package from the first post (thanks Nate) and was just wondering since I've seen a lot of talk about rhod 400/500 panel working correctly, is it odd that my rhod400 panel doesnt power off? or is it still just hit or miss as far as which phones it works for?

The full panel power on/off is in newer kernels than what I included in the full package. I used the 11/29 for the full package because the panel init builds haven't been as stable or worked for as many people. I figured I would build a new package once the panel init stuff is ironed out.

If you would like to update to the latest (very experimental) kernel, just download the 12/29 zip under NBH/modules on the first post ;)

Nate: i commited some changes last night. Unfortunately i passed out while writing the sharp panel portion for the 0x13 id. But should be done tonight so those poor rhod100 folk can help test.

Since camera is around the corner i guess i will begin concentrating on true nand next. I wish we had a winmo chef since they would know how wince handles all that stuff. Once we have that figured out its just a matter of filling in tinboot with the necessary info.

ok Nate I tried the 12-29 like you said and had some flickering once the xdandroid boot screen came up and had to tap the end key a few times until the screen did stay on. But good news is the panel off does work correctly for me now, unfortunately everything is VERY slow, but I'll keep messing with it

thanks!

ok did you just switch out the modules and flash the NBH? for some reason its like always unusably slow for me. I might try and just reformat and start fresh with that package, it may be something in my data.img or something

EDIT: Nevermind it was Swype haha, I killed it and boom! everything is super snappy now thanks guys

I saw the commits. You had a busy night! F22 reminded me to think Hex cause I gave you the wrong vendor for 0x13. It should have been AUO since 0x13 is 19.

I'm compiling two versions right now. One will be the reference where I leave force_cdma=1, no overclock, and have pm.sleep_mode=1. I'm also going to do an experimental version where I removed force_cdma=1, set an overclock to 710 MHz, set pm.sleep_mode=1, and moved the relative path to the root of the SD card. This will be a good test to see if my auto-detect CDMA/GSM works and see if removing the parsing of the andboot folder actually does help performance as we've seen in some of the HW3D threads.
