Just to update you guys.. i finally got a dedicated server from Wistilt to do our autobuild. I dont think ill have time tonight to actually set it up because of this damn patch but hopefully i can get it setup tomorrow so we can enjoy some autobuilds.

For those on Windows, Droid Explorer is an awesome tool. You can browse the file system, delete files, push files to it, run the ADB shell, and all sorts of other stuff from one simple program. Check it out at Droid Explorer

As for it not working, damage_them, if you check Device Manager, you should have three unidentified devices. Download the drivers linked below (I just took them from the Android SDK, so you can use those if you have downloaded them already), and force the unkown devices to use the basic ADB interface driver. Don't worry about figiruing out which is which ;)

Once you have the driver for ABD forced, Droid Explorer will see it. I thought Droid Explorer would automatically install the driver for you which is why I recommended it as a starting point ;)

That is great news ACL. I'm open for testing all day tomorrow. Are we just doing autobuild for your nand clone, or is this including tinboot as well? Also, let me know if there is anything I can do to help ;)

it will do everything. So after i make an update we will have a nbh and modules ready to download and roast your phone. We can do the rootfs as well if we havent found a keyboard solution yet. Unfortunately wozzer disappeared and has yet to commit that code that handle that section.

Yeah, and unfortunately my attempts haven't worked. I was trying to do cat /sys/class/htc_hw/machine_variant to get the model, but that doesn't get initialized until after the keyboard selection part. I was looking at a way to output machine_variant to a file that would be read so it would work similar to provisioning on WM ROMs where it would determine the carrier, apply changes, and restart, but I'm still playing around with that.

Oh, when you plug it in, it will show up in My Computer like a memory card reader, but it can't show the sdcard because it is mounted in Android. There was some widget someone posted earlier to use for that, but Droid Explorer can do all of that for you. Don't bother with the thing in My Computer ;)

And sorry I can't give more accurate descriptions. My work computer is Windows, but I use Linux at home.

Anyway I am noticing my phone doesn't lock fully anymore. The windows (menu) button can unlock the phone and end up hitting send since it is right beside it. I end up calling random people. It's a little annoying. I don't know if that is the keyboard mapping or the rootfs we are using.

Also anyone else using a extended battery? Seems like I'm not fully charging anymore.

In Device Manager, right click on XDA, and select Update Driver (or whatever it is called). Don't bother with searching automatically for the drivers; just select the option to browse for the driver. Select pick device drivers on my computer, select all devices, then click Have Disk. Browse to the location of the ADB drivers and select the only INF file in there. It should list 3 items, and just select the basic ADB Interface driver. Say yes to any warnings, and click Next/Finish.

That should do it ;)

That shouldn't have anything to do with the keyboard mappings, but you can always try the latest rootfs.img from XDAndroid.com and see if that one has the same problem. If you are using my modded rootfs.img, just make sure to use a .kb file to assign the mapping since the auto-assignment isn't working right now.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - Keyboard Mapping Fixed, HW3D, and Battery Algo Update

Right now I'm using the .kb file with ACL's build. I don't have the latest but the 10/3 still. I been just happy with what I got for now.

Bummer, sorry it isn't working for you. You do need admin privileges to install the driver. What's the old fashion way of doing things? :)

Thanks ACL. I'll get the first post updated to reflect the new information, and it looks like the ln to the latest is working great. Just need to get wine loaded on there and make some small adjustments to tinboot. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help ;)

Also, I'll build a tinboot with the latest zImage and modules and give it a test.

Not sure what you meant by zip them yourself. The latest NBH should be good to go from the index, but I'm not sure that the modules are going to work. I haven't had a chance to test any of it out yet, but I think ACL is still making some changes to the autobuild code.

Tomorrow will be a good day for me to get some serious testing in. Be sure to hit Thanks on ACL's posts for getting the autobuild all set up ;)

By dim screen, do you mean turning off the backlight or do you mean add the ability to dim the screen? The backlight being turned off still isn't committed yet, and I think WisTilt is messing around with dimming the screen on Haret but hasn't committed anything there either. Arrrghhh was helping him test that out last I knew, and I was going to verify for rhod500 but haven't seen him on IRC for a while.

Finally got the stupid script to work 100 percent. What everyone is going to look for are the latest symlinks which point to the last build. I make symlinks for both NBH and modules. But i also have the kernel inthere as well if anyone wants to tinboot it themselves.

Since the latest on one is alreayd up can anyone test it out and see if it works? if so ill begin comming some stuff thats been pending.

ok so just so i dont make a mistake, i have booted into android already thru nand, but what i did was in the andboot folder the latest 9-28-10 theres already a tar.gz module file (modules-2.6.27.46-01201-g4090133.tar.gz) should i keep that there and just add the one [ACL-HW3D+BATT] (modules-2.6.27.46-01194-g3f3c4eb-dirty.tar.gz)? There should only be one module file in the andboot folder correct? Right now is working by just having the module from the first post but wifi is no working.

I fixed up the first post yesterday somewhat, and I'll get it cleaned up a little more today after I get some testing done. You will want to download the latest NBH and modules file from the autobuild page. I have a feeling ACL will have to change the modules to have the build version included, but I'm just now getting a chance to flash the new NBH. I'll be reporting back shortly.

Crap. Same issue as I had before. Freezes on the animation screen the first two times, and this third time the animation has been going for about 20 minutes...

OK, ACL, can you take a look at these? I did a kmesg and logcat at the same time and figured I could pair up which PID was causing the crash. I have attached them to the post.
