[HOW TO] ROOT Acer A100 Tablet EASY AS 1-2-3 jejeje
 

AS ALWAYS, I AM NOT A DEVELOPER, JUST POSTING THE THREAD BECAUSE SOMETIMES ITS HARD TO FIND ALL THE INFORMATION TO COMPLETE YOUR PROCESS...




1.) Download the attached file and extract it to your /sdcard/ (Ensure you place these files on /sdcard/ and not /external_sd/) Do this with your FILE MANAGER

2.) Open your Terminal Emulator and type the following command:
sh /mnt/sdcard/su.sh


3.) Install the included SuperUser.apk (or you can install your preferred apk) and you are done!!!

Thats it my friends... Hope this helps ease the process... jejeje

I DID NOT COME UP WITH THIS PROCESS, ALL CREDIT TO THE DEVELOPERS THAT HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD TO GET THIS CORRECTLY!!! Thanks ABLISS for the COMMANDS!!!

Will this also work after installing a ICS leaked rom? I tried it on HC and worked perfectly.

ICS has a different method to root :cry: ...

Ummm, ok... Did you extract to SDCARD (internal memory) or to External_SD (external microSD) :scratch:

What error do you get? Are you running HC or ICS?

After downloading, the file size is only 51kb. Failed extraction every time.

File should be over 400k in zip... There should be an SU file, an .sh file, and the superuser.apk.

Someone over at cds said they used a different browser and it downloaded fine... Try that... Let me know

Acer a100 on HC

Did everything you listed and get a sh/mnt/sdcardsu.sh: not found error.

any help would be appreciated and yes I have the extracted files in the correct spot.

Add a space to your command and don't forget the final /... it should look
like this:
sh /mnt/sdcard/su.sh

NOT this:
sh/mnt/sdcardsu.sh

After u extract grab the su and su.sh files and put those on sdcard, then when u type
sh /mnt/sdcard/su.sh it will open... then install super user app
