Yeah that's a common undervolt issue. You can keep it from deep sleeping, at roughly twice the battery drain during standby (ie, all day standby = 45% of your battery or more used.)

But it doesn't crash.

FYI netflix ONLY works on CM7.03, every other ROM (including CM7.1) it's either very buggy, 2x fast, doesn't work, etc...
