Re: Voice on Galaxy Tab

This is something that has peaked my interests, using a tab as a "all-in-one" device. If you had a Google voice/talk account, couldn't you make/receive calls as long as your logged into your gmail account and get voice via a BT headset or speaker phone? Get unlimited text messages and make unlimited calls to cell and lan lines. Couldn't you also turn off the Sprint Data connection when at home and use WIFI to try to offset the 5GB data cap? If a lot of people start to use this, wouldn't we be able to push Sprint in the direction of offering an unlimited plan for the tabs?? I hate the idea of holding a 5x7 picture frame to my head as a phone but using cell companies as just a data connection and getting free everything sounds like a good path to go down!:headbang:

Has anyony tried this on a Verizon Tab?

Tried this today on my Tab and it works. I called my cell phone and my wifes phone using this program and it works pretty well.

basically the tablet plan is a no minute plan . its kind of funny how it looks in the system though. But heck we got VOIP to use if we wanna use it as a phone!

Re: Voice on Galaxy Tab

Sprint and/or samsung should put voice in these things.....not so i can hold it up to my face and look like a chode, but so i can use BT and look like a semi-chode.....but id still use it.....im just not to fond of either paying $299 and a two year commitment for some seriously crappy 3g data, or paying $600 for an oversized galaxy S.....id pay 200 for the device if it had voice and data......otherwise it just seems silly to me to add another line to my account for nothing basically....at home i can tether for free, or i can use my cable to wifi my evo.....idk tabs just do not make alot of sense to me just yet.....they need more functionallity to sell me....they are just an oversized evo, or galaxy s crippled......im sticking with my 13" HP with 8g of ram fo now......
