I would try a different zimage or a different rootFS file.

I tried 3 completely different setups...Dark V5, Dark V1.7 Froyo, and the spimonkey build...

well they are a little bugged, what WM ROM and radio are you on?

Today i jumped on the recommended Miri V17 and changed to 2.10.50.19.2 but i'm getting shit for call quality...its not much better in Windows either...

I just read that deleting the Android folder that gets created off your storage card will fix the rootfs problem, we'll see next time...

Yup, live in Kingwood and its been pretty funky, actually worse down by my work around the beltway and 290...

DUDE for real!

it takes like an hour just to get from 610 to the beltway, so horrible.

What ROM and radio are you on? What Android version you using?

The only version 100% clean of the SOD (sleep of death) that I know of is Darkstone's Desire v5

still havnt found a radio that i dont have any issues with and i tried allmost all of them
it just seems like the voice on the other end is way to low even on speaker phone sounds realy low
best way i noticed is with head phones thats the only way i get wm call quality on android
other then that desire v5 with july 23 z image and root tfs patch is the way to go having no freeze up or screens of death no lags what so ever been running it for 5 days now

I can't get decent call quality for sh!t...i've tried a bunch of ROM/Radio combinations and always get the person calling me saying it sounds like i'm driving down the interstate with the windows down...

For now i just keep my phone in Android while i'm at home or work and boot to Windows while i'm driving...
