Google Maps 5 with 3D buildings and tilt/rotate gestures released
Update your google maps app if you havent yet... the 3d buildings with gesture support has been added.
Via Gizmodo • Maps load—and feel—faster • Zooming is ultra-smooth, not point-by-point • It can cache a lot of the map offline, and it does, as you can see in the video, which was shot entirely in airplane mode. We're talking multiple zoom levels and a decent chunk of city geography. It'll even download fresh map data overnight while connected to Wi-Fi for places that you look up a lot in maps, Google tells us. • Offline rerouting for navigation, even • 3D buildings for 100 cities • 3D compass • Two new gestures: two-finger swipe to tilt the map and twist to rotate Note: works perfectly on an EVO.. Works on Epic too, but rotating doesn't work (believe the same for all galaxy s and the nexus one). Less powerful devices aren't supported. |

Funny how there's more interest on the tp2 forum than android apps forum lol.

How do you see the 3D building?

I used it last night... its pretty slick. I wish they could implement the 3D into the navigation part though. To see the 3D view you have to be in a city that has the 3D maps enabled... there's a list of em somewhere. To activate it just put your two fingers at the top two corners of the screen right below the notifications bar and drag the screen down.
