Problem with Rom Manager

I recently used Unrevoked to root my Evo. I then installed Rom Manager and tried to backup my phone. I open Rom Manager, click "Backup Current Rom" and accept the default name. My phone them attempts to restart, and gets stuck on the bootup screen (white with the words htc EVO 4G). I can get the phone running by removing the battery. But I must be doing something wrong. Any advice?

Check and make sure you are S-Off with file manger on sd card. Also what recovery did you use to wipe with? Clockworkmod does not work vey good try Amon recovery 1.80 once you get figured out.

My phone is s-off. I haven't wiped with anything. I am simply trying to backup my current, rooted, stock ROM. I'm a total noob, and am taking baby steps. I eventually want to try flashing some ROMs, but not until I am sure I can go back to a previous setup if things go wrong.

So then you are on Stock Rom. Look in Rom Manger and see what recovery it says you are on.

Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 2.5.0.1

FWIW, When I go into "Manage And Restore Backups", I don't see anything listed.

ETA: When I try to "Fix Permissions" I get "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!". That seems relevant.

try installing Superuser from market it allows for permissions in root.

Re: Problem with Rom Manager

I have the Superuser Permissions App, which says Rom Manager has superuser permissions. Maybe I should uninstall and reinstall Rom Manager.

You could try but I think something else is going on. Have you changed kernels? Set Setcpu too high?

When u try to back up with rom manager, and save ur current r0m r u putting a space between the words? If so that's why its not saving. Put - or _ between the words or just use 1 word.

sent from my Evo 4g

I really haven't done anything to my phone other than Unrevoking. I haven't flashed any ROMs. Superuser privilidges have been granted to Wireless Tethering and Titanium Backup. Oh, and I installed Busybox, as is required by Titanium.
