Skype Question?
 

I'm planing to take a trip down to Mexico and was wondering if I buy Skype credits will I be able to use my Sprint Evo to make and recieve calls from numbers here in the states. Or would taking my phone be pointless? I don't plan on using my phone alot it's just in case of an emergency and someone needs to contact me I would atleast like to recieve calls. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes skype will work as long as you are in range of a wifi signal, provided it is connected. You will be able to call the states with skype credit, but people will only be able to ring your phone through skype. They will not be able to just dial your cell number.

yes, find a place with a wifi signal. i used the skype app and paid $.02 a minute calling the USA from Korea. the only issue is the call quality. the other person could barely hear me or would hear static in the background if i wasn't in a place with a great wifi signal. btw i left my phone in airplane mode the whole time and then turned on wifi.
