New Swype 2.4.44 - much better on EVO with Froyo now.
 

Swype has been sketchy for me ever since the 2.2 update.

I received an email from swype about a new version.
I downloaded it.. seems much better now. \\:D/

Highly recommended!

By the different versions..swype apparently is over 2.??? One he posted I believe is 1.56.?? You can see your version in settings/language & keyboard/swype settings.

you have to be a beta tester to get beta swype and juts because its beta doesn't make it freeware

What version was on th evo before this whole expired thing happened?

evo didn't come with swype. head over to xda, they have it posted on a couple different android forums

Just an update, I have tried about half a dozen versions of swype and I find 1.60 to be the best. The main thing I check is a few key words, the main one being want / wasn't. If I swype want and it pops wasn't then I have an issue with that version on several other words. If I swype want and it gives want 4 outta 5 times then I am good.

1.60 is gives the least mistakes for my wild swyping, your mileage may very.

Right now my problem with swype is that every time I turn on my phone swype doesn't work. I have to select another keyboard and switch back.

Oh and what the hell is a "haver"? Every time I say "have"it comes up "haver". Is that a word?

At some point whilst you were entering text, you entered haver (space entered after the last r) and it was entered in the user dictionary. Since it is a close word, it will display it as an option. Your option is to delete it from the user dictionary.

Ive used it before and they do use it on the world breaking records so might as well give it a try again.
