App to play .AVI files on EVO

Im using GMOTE SERVER and wanted to use it to play movies on my phone from my laptop. When I go to click on a movie that are all .avi it says it doesnt have a program to play it. Is there anything I can use to play AVI files?? I know i could get a converter to change them to avi to whatever but thats more pain.

I like rock player but I wish they would sell in the market instead of wanting to take paypal, the free version is really all you need though.

What about one that'll play WMP live streams from a website? or should I ask in a different thread?

I use rock player and double twist. Between those 2 I haven't come across an av file that won't play on my evo.

+1 on RockPlayer. It is actually worth the 9.95 to purchase the ad free version. I did. It gets rid of the red R on the top left of the screen. It is the only video player I use.

Buy an Epic 4g it plays everything off the bat ;)

But realistically speaking Rockplayer should be able to play FLV and WMV...

In your thing though it says your using a touch pro, if for some reason that is the case and your using windows mobile then coreplayer or tcmp is the way to go.

I can play them natively but can't stream.

I've messed around with many formats on the epic, divx doesn't work, apparently it doesn't have the license?

Install Orb on your laptop. Then get Androrb from the market. I can stream avi and most other formats on my Moment!

menu > settings > about phone > legal information > license settings > DIVX VOD!!!

thats where the reg serial is.. then go to your desktop divx player and add a device, put in the serial and viola...

What program do you use to rip your DVD's. I use DVDFab and rip to Divx or Xvid set at 1500 kbps and sound set to same as source. Avatar is around 1,371gig's in size and plays on the Epic without a problem and looks great!

Re: App to play .AVI files on EVO

This is the formula I followed to get the avi files from a digi cam to play right.

How to convert videos and transfer them to the Samsung Galaxy S - Know Your Cell

Rockplayer and Arcmedia would sorta play them but very distorted until converted. Now stock gallery player or mvideo player works great.

Also make sure you unlock your VOD stuff for full divx use like post 19 mentioned since it's kinda hidden away in the settings menu.

RockPlayer can play all of those extensions. I use it all the time.
