what's the best file type or converter for high quality videos?
 

I converted some videos to .avi and they did not play. I converted some to 3gp and they look like crap. Can someone recommend a better file format to convert to or a better video player or a combo of the two so I can get my videos as high quality as possible?

I came from an HTC Apache / Mogul / TP / TP2 / and now the Evo. My first Droid phone.

I've always used Plato DVD shrink tool from cutedvd and convert to .avi.

I use the second to highest setting b/c the highest setting caused Evo issues.


Then ya gotta download "RockPlayer" to be able to view .avi.

I use handbrake...settings that work with the nexus one should also work with the evo

r u trying to get a program for converting for the andriod, pc, or mac // as for mac roxio toast works well for me and i love handbreak as well whick was noted by others

I like the looks of handbrake. the EVO has a bigger screen. anyone know what size I should set it at or any other things to adjust that EVO has that the Desire doesnt have?

I just use the settings in the read, set to 800x???
looks great converting from HD movies, def. watchable through output from hdmi to sammy lcd.
