Task Killer Question

What apps do I put In the Ignore folder, and what apps should I put In the Auto Kill folder?

Thanks

From what I understand from reading, and from personal experience, uninstall your Task Killer. They cause more harm than good.

That's not true, you just have to know how to use it right.

If you're a beginner or novice and not sure what to kill, just add the widget and hit that, it closes unused background apps and will make your phone run faster.

Re: Task Killer Question

Personal preference I guess. Even with the stock ATK settings and some key programs set to Ignore, I experienced issues. The issues go away once uninstalled. From what I have read, the EVO works much better if you let it manage the applications. I think you have two types of people that use Task Killers. Those that think they will get better battery life by closing every single application that is not needed, and those that want to free up memory.

From what I understand in my reading, the only real issue that can be dealt with is the memory issue.

Many applications run, but don't have any effect on the battery. If someone has a program that uses a lot of battery juice, then maybe the problem is the program itself, and how it was created/developed.

In my personal experience, I see no need for any task killer program on the EVO.

I am a heavy phone user and get 12 to 15 hours of battery life during the day, then another 6 to 8 standby overnight, at which time I switch to my spare battery that is fully charged via a separate 110V charger. Many times I can make it halfway thru the next day on the previous days charge if I choose to do it that way.

All that with no task killer installed.

Re: Task Killer Question

I see your using a Nexus One. Maybe you need a task killer with your phone.

Are you comments based on using an EVO with and without a task killer?

EDIT: Nevermind the above. I see you have an EVO, but just have not updated your info.

Re: Task Killer Question

Is your experience with an EVO or some other Droid OS Phone?

If you have a 1gHz processor like the EVO has, there are not speed issues.

That wouldn't matter, they have the same specs.
