This app seems pretty useful since my girlfriend and I are trying to do more walking activities... I especially like the fact that under the MORE category in NEW WORKOUT you can select SWIMMING, SURFING, and PARAGLIDING...
Hope you have a waterproof container!!

Yes is completely free, no need to turn on any background data, just the GPS to get you located and to follow your workout through. very accurate and easy to use.
Even and on the end if you want to upload the workout to www.sportypal.com there is no need to pay for any service, just find a wi-fi hot spot and will do it :):)

Wish I had a waterproof case, to try out Sp on some swimming. Have spotted some swimming workouts, but they are probably done with a editor.
