Ok so here's the summary...
MODEL: Linksys WRTSL54GS & WRTSL54GS:

FLASH: 32MB
WIRELESS NIC: Broadcom (integrated)
SWITCH: BCM5325
boot_wait: off
Serial: Yes
JTAG: Yes
USB: 1x 2.0
STATUS: Supported
MODEL: ASUS WL-500g Premium
PLATFORM/FREQUENCY: Broadcom 4704 @ 266MHz
FLASH: 8MB
RAM: 32MB
WIRLESS NIC: Broadcom 4318 (mini-PCI)
SWITCH: BCM5325
boot_wait: on
Serial: Yes
JTAG: No
USB: 2x v2.0
HDD: No
STATUS: Supported
So I would rather go with ASUS WL-500g Premium due to the extra USB2.0 port.... but the question is, do we (as phone-modem users) need bood_wait, or jtag, or any of the things that the Linksys has?
That extra usb port could come in handy for additional space via flash memory stick.
