There isn't an official recall, but if your phone has an ESN that falls between a certain set of numbers, you can swap it out b/c of the issue with the bad chrome. I'm not sure if the ESN range has been posted anywhere or not. If you are in doubt, you can contact a repair center and they should give you more information on it.

He didn't say he tried calling to get it done, he was simply asking if it could be done. It's not that outrageous of a question. I've seen stranger ones asked.
