Sprint rep said to mail in the MIR if indeed it comes with the phone. If it doesn't, I can't really complain. I think $199 is a really good price!!

They made me jump through maaaaaaany hoops for this phone since I have the old Free & Clear plan (been with sprint since 2000) and was told that my old plan won't work with this new phone. I know they were BS-ing me since I was able to order the Treo 800w a month ago without having to change anything on my plan (had to return it due to freezing issues with Windows Mobile).

I'm dreading having to activate this device over the phone and am hoping not to go through the same issues I did purchasing it. I'm sure they'll pull the same "oh we can't activate it because your plan isn't compatible with the phone." Has anyone gone through this same problem with Sprint?
Not yet, but I'm preparing myself for it when I call to activate the diamond, since I'm in the same boat as you.

We have the Fair and Flexible 700 w/ unlimited vision and SMS, shared between my wife and I. But I was very clear with the reps in the store last month that we wouldn't upgrade if we had to change plans. It's twice as much $$ for the current 1500 min share data/voice/text that just offers extra minutes we won't use. What's the point? But the store rep took about 3 minutes to approve the 2-yr renewal upgrades keeping our current plan, and also let us upgrade to a Centro and a Treo 800w.

I seriously hope they don't try to pull some crap on me when I call in on Tuesday.
