Re: Official Sprint ROM 3.35.651.2? Not according to the tech at the local repair cen

1. The manager knew about the ROM but the tech did not and because the tech didn't know about it the ROM must not have been legit. He said he knows EVERYTHING and is up to date on all of the models he services.

2. If you have a question about a customers phone the first thing you don't do is make accusations. I'm a Sr. Systems Admin for an automation and robotics company and even though I try to stay on top of things I don't always know everything about a situation so I know it's good to take a minute to investigate something before I shoot off my mouth. The first thing the tech could have done was a) contact someone at Sprit corporate (yeah I'm giggling too as I typed that) or b) ask his manager who knew all about the ROM. Right there the problem would have never happened and he might of actually learned something about a product he supported. All he could do was come out from the back room and shoot off his mouth and accuse me of running a bootleg ROM called Telenav.

My gripe isn't that they didn't know about it but about how they handled things. You get more bees with honey but if you want flies bring out the crap bucket. I honestly think that customer service as a whole is completely in the crapper no matter if you are at McDonalds or a Sprint Store. It's one thing if someone isn't that courteous at McDonalds because it's just lunch but when it's something that you've paid $100's for up front and then pay over $100 a month for (granted I don't, my company does. I just have to be the one who deals with the crappy service) service I don't think it's too much to ask for a little bit of satisfaction with customer service and performance. Maybe my 40 something self is just asking for too much. The funniest thing about it all though was as we were walking out of the store my co worker said, "He's so not zero day!" I don't know what the store number but it is on Sawmill Rd in Columbus, Ohio.
