Update:
I had assumed that since I could, at one time (with the older 6.5.5) browse my freenas based NAS, that I should still be able to do so with whichever. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.
I can browse windows based hosts. Darn. I wonder if there's another setting besides the NTLM in the registry. There must be some fundamental difference in 6.5.3 and 6.5.5
