After reading these posts, my original observations still stand. Trying all ways, wet fingers, dry fingers, slowly, more pressure, edges, middle finger, toes, nothing.
Its what we call in electrical engineering a floating ground. when you touch the device with one hand, it has a reference point of what to compare the capacitance value that the other hand asserts. Not all devices need this. Its a matter of design in the hardware and software probably.
Does it mean there are a batch of EVOs out that exhibit this fluke/bug whatever you call it? judging from my own experience and subsequent posts.
If it only affects initial adopters ie Google I/O then maybe its been corrected.
I'd still like to use it one handed in the car mount or lying in bed or on a table where i rather not hold with the other hand.
