After seeing the demo I can clearly see why its Windows Phone, because its a dumbphone OS and not an actual OS. There are plenty competition in the dumbphone OS market, iPhone, Bada, Instinct OS(forgot its name), LG OS, and etc...

Also I repeat..just by putting "Windows" in the name, people will think its a Pocket PC phone and avoid it for those that don't want pocket pcs and those that try it thinking its a pocket pc will be disappointed.

It is the smartphone OS that makes it stand out which windows mobile was in and now looks like Android will end up ruling.

As for the argument before about the pocket pcs being laggy and breaking...the fault lies in the crappy hardware and optimizations. You have to understand, phones loaded with windows mobile used to be premium phones which high prices. The TP2 for example cost many of us 350$ which we dished out for a pocketpc. Lets reverse the thing, WP 7 will require high end hardware with a none pocketpc OS...would you dish out 350$ for something you can get on a free-$100 phone?

What an average user wants is usually a touch screen for 100$ or less which Microsoft won't be able to provide. They clearly given up the fight agaisnt android and went to fight the iPhone while Android is claiming both markets..slowly but steadily.

It is not about embracing change or denying it..we expect next version..when you get microsoft Excel your hoping for spreadsheets. If they change excel into a mapping tool, even if they call it Excel it is not. As stated before...it should not have Windows in its name..Windows = pocket pc in EVERYONES mind..I mean if I tell you windows, what would be your first reaction.

How is WP7 a dumbphone? What defines WM6.x from being a smartphone and WP7 being a dumbphone?

You are bashing WP7, and that is your right to voice your opinion, but I don't understand why. I can understand if you don't like the UI but what can't WP7 do that WM6.x do? The truth is, we don't have any details to call it a dumbphone.
