yes absolutely lock it up!!! i mean the chances they check are slim,but if they do 1 of 2 things will result

1.if you take to a store and a tech is there and or such a person with the knowledge of ppc devices is there helping you then they will kindly look you in the eye and explain how you voided your warranty and you will leave unhappy

then # 2 which is even worse

2.if obtained thru the mail via fedex,after you sign the delivery slip and obtain "ownership" of the device then you better make damn sure you lock it lol,if you forget and they receive and see it's unlocked well then on your account it will be noted you sent back a voided warranty phone,at that point that lil replacement in your hand your playing with just cost you full retail price and you can expect to see it on your next available bill!!
